Admission is by ticket only. Bookings are essential.

The gate will be open from 9:30 am until approximately 3:30 pm. The only time restriction is for the tours of the main building, for the rest of the time you are free to wander around the grounds.

Because the main buildings are in use as health facilities, we need to take people through in controlled groups, hence the necessity to book for a specific time.

PARKING: There is limited parking in the grounds

TOUR OF MAIN BUILDING: We ask you to adhere strictly to the time you will be allocated for this part of the tour. You would need to assemble at the main entrance a short time before your tour is due to depart. Late arrivals could encounter difficulties.

If you are bringing children it will be your responsibility to keep them with you at all times. Please do not go into any of the rooms that the tour guide does not open for inspection, and keep with the guide at all times.

You will need to present your ticket to join the tour group through the main building.

TOURS OF THE GROUNDS:

Yaralla: These tours are conducted by a different guide from the house tour and may be joined at any time throughout the day.

View or download a PDF of the Yaralla Tour Map (970k)

Thomas Walker Convalescent Hospital (Rivendell): This is a continuation of the tour through the main building.

View or download a PDF of the Rivendell Grounds (1000k) or the Rivendell House Plan (133k)

PHOTOGRAPHIC DISPLAY: This is only at Yaralla, in the stables complex.

SOUVENIRS: Tour booklets, other pamphlets, etc. will be available for sale.

DEVONSHIRE TEAS will be available for a small charge.

LUNCH (Yaralla only): Barbecue lunch and cold drinks can be purchased on the day.

RUBBISH: Please dispose of all rubbish thoughtfully. There will be bins around the grounds. Please help us to keep the grounds neat so that we may get permission for further inspections of the estate.

PROBLEMS: If you encounter any problems please report them to the main control area.

TOILET FACILITIES: There are very limited toilet facilities.

SUGGESTIONS: If you have any suggestions to improve our service, there will be a box at the main control area. We welcome any ideas you care to offer.
